The Focus Awards Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) is designed to equip learners with the essential knowledge, understanding, and practical skills required to act confidently in workplace first aid situations.

 

This qualification provides learners with the opportunity to become a fully qualified emergency first aider, capable of administering emergency first aid procedures in the workplace.

 

Our course meets the Health and Safety Executive (First-Aid) Regulations 1981, ensuring that your organisation complies with legal requirements for first aid provision. It is suitable for anyone who works, or intends to work, in a wide range of industries, as all employers are legally required to provide adequate first aid cover for their employees.

 

By completing this course, learners gain the confidence to respond effectively to workplace accidents and emergencies, helping to protect the health and safety of colleagues and creating a safer working environment.

 

What will you learn?

This course will equip you with the knowledge and practical skills to act confidently in workplace emergency situations.

 

By the end of the training, you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate safe, prompt, and effective first aid, understanding the responsibilities of a first-aider.

  • Assess and manage an unresponsive casualty.

  • Perform CPR and use a defibrillator (AED) effectively.

 

Course Modules Include:

  • Assessing an incident and responding appropriately

  • Managing an unresponsive casualty

  • CPR and AED use

  • Recovery position techniques

  • Choking emergencies

  • Seizures

  • Shock management

  • Wounds and bleeding

  • Minor injuries, including cuts, grazes, and bruises

  • Minor burns and scalds
