The Highfield Qualifications Level 1 Award in an Introduction to Mental Health and Wellbeing (RQF) is designed to prepare learners to progress to a qualification in another subject area and/or give learners personal growth and engagement in learning, specifically in relation to understanding the basic principles of mental health.
This qualification can be taken by learners preparing to enter employment and wish to develop their knowledge on mental health.

Knowing the differences between mental illnesses and responses to difficult situations.
Identifying signs that mental health and well-being is deteriorating
The methods and strategies to manage common difficult situations
Signs and Symptoms associated with mental ill health
Identifying situations where it is appropriate to provide support or refer to professional help
Know how to provide support to family and friends for their mental health and well-being
Know the sources of support for mental health and well-being.
