L3 Certificate In Assessing Vocational Achievement (RQF)

The Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement is the complete workplace and vocational assessing qualification. It is suitable for people who work in a role where they examine or assess learners against criteria, leading to the award of a qualification.

Once you have completed this course, you will be able to take on a role as an assessor, making judgements as to whether a learner has met the assessment criteria on a course and is ready to recieve their qualification.

Our CAVA is awarded by Focus Awards and is a fully Ofqual regulated qualification. People who hold this qualification include assessors, teachers, trainers, instructors, college lecturers, learning and development staff and apprenticeship coordinators.

You do not need any assessing experience to take this course, but you do need to work in a workplace where you are able to undertake both vocational and workplace assessments. Usually, this involves working for a training provider or college that delivers vocational qualifications. It is expected that you will be working alongside qualified assessors. You will also need a computer with access to the internet.

If you are not working in a suitable workplace and are not able to undertake assessments, you can still begin studying as an assessor by taking the Award in Understanding Assessment Processes and Practice. This is the theory part of the Certificate in Assessing Vocational achievement and you can go on to complete the practical modules at a later date to claim the full certificate.
